Top: H&M (one, two, three) | Cardigan: H&M (similar) | Jeans: Forever 21 (one, two) | Flats: Old Navy (one, two)
I know, I've been wearing these black jeans a lot. Sorry, peeps. A series of busy weeks calls for "go mode," aka a jeans rut. Jeans and plaid, that's how I roll to get business done. Creative juices will flow once again when all craziness ceases in January...hopefully.
Anyway, I originally planned to wear this outfit like the second picture, but I went with the first one instead. I like the contrast of the darker tan cardi in the second pic better than the beige one above, but the second outfit was a little fussy. The look needed a belt, but the cardigan wouldn't stay in place with the belt so I scrapped it. Which way would you wear it?

I would wear the first look - no changes - well except for I would probably switch out flats for my riding boots! I would have never thought to throw a cardigan over a button-up - very clever!!
ReplyDeleteLove the look! I like how look two looks on you, but for some reason I can never get into cardigans on myself. I don't know why! So I'd probably play it safe and throw a tweed blazer over this, haha. But love both looks! :)

I'd wear the first look as well. I've tried to do the belt over a cardigan before as in the 2nd look, but I never think it looks right.
ReplyDeletefor me, I'd go with the first. Its looks easy, cute, and comfy :) Like you said, no fus.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the darker cardigan looking nicer, but always go with comfort! The first look is still cute and looks nice. I've just about decided that I can only do skinny belts with dresses. I found this wide stretchy black belt that I can wear at that waist/right under the boobs area. Because it's stretchy, it's so comfortable, and because it's wide, it holds cardigans way better than a skinny belt. Sadly, I found it at Goodwill so I have no idea where to find another one; otherwise I'd have 4 in different colors by now!
ReplyDeleteI like the top look! Looks more comfortable and "real life" to me. But I'm a stay at home mom of three littles, so my "real life" is a little different than yours. :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI like the second one! It looks cleaner and more put-together. But to be fair, I would choose the first one if I was looking for comfort.
ReplyDeleteLoving the first cardi. The pockets make the cardi.
ReplyDeleteI really like both honestly! Can't go wrong.

I love the second look! good choice to swap the cardi looks more put together with the belt too : )
ReplyDeletethey both look great -- but I like it cinched with the belt the most! xo

Love them both!!! I think I like #2 for me. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd wear it the top way - I feel like the heavy necklace negates the need for a belt around the waist, personally. May I ask where you got your necklace and bracelet? I am dying for some heavy chain pieces!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely the first one for me! While the second one looks a little more polished, I don't know about you but I can't deal with fussy outfits when I'm trying to focus on something important. I need something that's not going to require a readjustment every five seconds. ;) The first one looks so much more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the first look - but I like the second, too. I always have trouble with the belt over the cardigan...

I agree, I like the contrast of the colors in the second outfit, but it does seem a little fussy. And when you're crazy busy, fussy doesn't work. I like the comfy-factor of the first look!

I prefer the first look too - comfy and relaxed. But then again I always look so frumpy with my cardigan belted so maybe I'm biased.
ReplyDeletethanks..
ReplyDeleteSome days we just need those easy peasy outfits! I like both of them :)

I'd go with the first one as I prefer comfortable cuts, simple shapes and no fuss accessories ;)
ReplyDeleteAt least amidst the busy times and madness you are still managing to post regularly. I have not been doing so well in that area, hehe. Anyway, regarding your belt or not question, I never feel right in a belted cardigan, so I would opt to do without. But you seem to be able to manage either way. (:
