Mint and leopard. In my room I thought this outfit was a great idea, but as I walked out the door into real life I had a "What on earth am I wearing?" kind of moment. Mint in the fall? Mint and leopard? Why do I kind of feel like a superhero wearing colored skinnies and boots? But then I just decided to think it was awesome (or at least pretend to). Mint and leopard? Yes. Why the heck not?
I think confidence is one of the best accessories you can wear. I've had plenty of days lately where I've walked out of the house chuckling at myself, wondering what the heck I'm wearing. But I just find a reason to love it--whether it's being able to appreciate one particular piece, or simply being proud of myself for trying something new even if it's not my favorite outfit, or because it's such a train wreck that it's so dang funny--anything. It so happens that while it's not always the case, I genuinely came to love this outfit! Not gonna lie, though...even though I decided that I loved this before leaving the house, it helped when I ran into two girls I knew who saw me and instantly showered me with compliments about my outfit. Even with all I've just said, you'd better believe inside I was like, "Whew!" :)
What do you do when you walk out of the house unsure about your outfit?

I think you look really nice. It's good to not too uniform! I just found your blog, I think it's great and am v inspired by what you are doing. I'm doing the same myself!
ReplyDeleteBecause leopard goes with everything, that's why! So does chambray. And cognac boots. All things I love wrapped up in one - cute, cute!
ReplyDeleteWhen i'm unsure about an outfit, I just remember to own it! Just because someone else might not get it, doesn't mean it doesn't work for you! That's why we are fashion bloggers! Because we take risks and see opportunity putting different outfits together that other people don't.
ReplyDeletei love this look! super cute!

I love seeing bright colors in the fall. It's doesn't all have to be about burgundy and hunter green, right?!

We've talked about confidence as an accessory before and it is still true. If you have confidence you will look good! Of course, it never hurts for someone else to say you look cute!
ReplyDeleteJust the other day I wore a very outside my color comfort zone out fit, and I was totally self conscious and uncomfortable! It didn't help that the friend who I was with got several compliments on what she was wearing (jeans with a cute top, hehe!)
ReplyDeleteIn case you are curious what I wore... Skinny jeans, plaid shirt under a pink cable knit sweater and my new cognac boots. Kept feeling like a walking ad for 80's preppy.
Great look!! I sometimes feel the same way... sometimes I'm unsure of my outfit then go back inside to change something really quick... I do that and my hubby shakes his head and tell me to hurry up. lol

I love this look! All the colors together look great! I agree with you though, even if you feel uneasy it's best to just try and be confident!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute...mint and leopard look great together!
ReplyDeleteVery cute
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! I usually have to change if i'm not confident with an outfit. Even if it means being late.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great look! The more I see leopard in outfits, the more I realize how great it looks with everything - green, pink, stripes, flowers, mint, whatever! If I'm ever unsure about an outfit after I've left the house, I try my best to think about something else. If that doesn't work, count from 700 to 0 by 7s. By the time you're done, you'll be too tired to worry about clothes :)

I love it!! I think the mint and leopard look perfect together. And you know, you're so right. Confidence is the best accessory. :)
ReplyDeleteConfidence is the BEST accessory! And you wear it well, along with the mint/leopard/chambray. I really like this outfit, the boots make it very fall. :-)

Very cute! if i put on an outfit that I'm unsure about I think to myself, "Do I like this outfit?" If i do, then it doesn't really matter to me what others think. I just try to be comfortable in my own skin and not worry about what other people think :)
ReplyDeleteI have tried on a lot of stuff the past couple weeks(forgot to write down the outfits) that I was unsure about, and usually the ones I am the most unsure about, I get the best compliments on those outfits.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm unsure about my outfit, I either rush right back in to change, or grab something to change in to. I'm such a chicken!
ReplyDeletei love that you braved it and rocked this outfit, because it's cute! blogging has really helped me wear things I'd usually consider crazy but actually work, because im confident!

I think it looks great! But then again I recently wore mint pants, leopard blouse and a purple cardigan...all together! haha... I guess it might not be for everyone but as long as you wear it with confidence you can pretty much pull off anything - like you said!

When I am unsure of an outfit but decide to get through my day in it, I refer to it as "fiercing my way through the day". I just keep telling myself I look amazing, and try to project an air of incredible confidence.
ReplyDeleteFiercing your way through the day--I love it!
