Red and Red

Top: Forever 21 (shop, similar, similar)  |  Red skinnies: Old Navy via Buffalo Exchange (shop similar: one, two, three)  |  Flats: Gap (shop, similar)

If you remember the post from last week about these red flats...I kept them!  Well, what really happened is that I was at a different Gap where I was able to try another pair this size and a size up.  The size up was too big, but the second pair in my size fit better than the ones I previously bought.  I walked around in them with no problems.  Yay!  Thanks for all of your advice.  :)

I normally wouldn't have paired red shoes with red pants because it's too matchy-matchy for me.  I also just kinda thought you "weren't allowed" to do it.  But when I started reading style blogs I saw people doing it and actually liked it!  And here we are.  I originally had my nude cap toe flats on, but I loved how the red was kind of unexpected.  Would you ever match your shoes with your pants?

Very cute! Love the red on red...fun!! I can't believe you're still able to wear sleeveless anything...it's so cold where I live now!!

  3. That kind of matchy-matchiness (if that's a word) on two items so close to each other will totally get my OCD going, so my answer would be "no", but I think you look great! On a side note, I love how you rolled your pants - I've been trying for a long time to get that casual rolled-up look, but never managed to (again, OCD.)

  4. I love the red with red! So cute! How do your flats rate on the comfiness scale? I'm looking for a pair that is super comfy (that I could wear for 10 hours shooting a wedding). Would you recommend those?

  5. it really depends! I think you look adorable and, getting 2 reds to match is QUITE a feat!!! I wouldn't wear my cheetah flats with my cheetah sweater BUT I would (and do quite often) wear my navy patent leather flats (that I love and will die if they ever come apart!!!) with navy jeans...I do wear dark plum flats with dark plum pants too...does that make me trendy or lazy??? :)

  10. I love this look! That's so funny that you posted this today because I'm wearing my gray jeans with my gray Tom's wedges. I wondered when I put them on if that look works or not and went with it. I think it totally works and its not too matchy matchy if they're right next to each other. I dont think things are too matchy until you have 3+ items of the same color in the same outfit. Red shoes, shirt and purse would be a little too matchy in my opinion :) Love your blog! calyptecollection.blogspot.com

  11. I always feel bad doing something "matchy-matchy" too, but sometimes its the right way to go!

  12. I have an issue with too many things of the same color in an outfit and so I avoid it. But I can't really think of other people's outfits that have made me cringe or anything, so it's totally a personal issue, haha.

  13. I find that I fall victim to matching things, it's more out of my comfort zone to not match. I also thought that my shoes, belt and bag should always match. It's actually been my personal challenge to NOT match when I get dressed!

  14. Firstly I love the colour match and secondly I do it all the time! Not even meaning to some days. I try ot to constantly be matchy matchy as like you say it can be a bit too much but when it works it works.

  15. I only wore them for like 4 hours without any problems, but I don't know about 10 hours. I broke them in a little before that by wearing them around the house. Since they're leather, they stretch a bit.

  17. I would totally match my shoes to my pants as long as my top was completely different. Great post.

  18. the red on red totally works because the hues are nearly identical and the ankle gap breaks them up. Love it!

  19. I think in this case it just draws the attention to your top, which isn't a bad thing :)

  23. I have a *strong* color-coordination streak, via my mother, so there's almost no such thing as too matchy-matchy in my world. I literally said out loud, "Cutest. Outfit. EVER!" when I saw your post. :)

  24. Salazar, I think we are the same person. Audrey, ditto what she said - very cute on you, very much something I wouldn't do. I would just think about it all day until I switched my shoes. Sad, I know.
