And I'm happy that this wine color is "in" this season (or burgundy, or maroon, or whatever you want to call it. Anything besides "oxblood"--who thought of that, anyway?) This bag was my go-to for YEARS until I started blogging, and I've missed it. The wine color surprisingly went with almost everything I used to wear, but once I started changing my style I didn't quite know how to fit it in anymore. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can incorporate it back into regular rotation!
On a totally separate note...2,000 Google Friend subscribers?! Whaaaaaaat? That's insane! I remember thinking when I started this blog that I would be amazed if I could ever reach 300. I want to pause for a moment to say THANK YOU for following along and for all of your encouraging emails and comments. My heart gets so filled whenever I hear from you guys how you're doing on your own style journey. When I hear about how your confidence has grown, how you get compliments on your outfits, or how you feel a little prouder walking around, I get so freaking happy for you guys and I'm glad that this blog could be even a small part of that!

Congrats Audrey. You have really done well with your blog after only over a yr. you even started after me. Really great job and I'm thankful for being able to work with you

Congrats! I'm new here - having recently followed a link from You Look Fab. Thanks to you I have overcome my fear of tucking in tops because I'm short waisted. After reading your remixable wardrobe series and seeing your pics of tops tucked into flared skirts I bought a new skirt and gave it a try. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI cannot stand the term "oxblood" it just seems so violent, burgundy is super sexy and doesn't need to be violent! Congrats on 2,000!

I'm a new follower also. I found your blog via Pinterest and subscribe through Reader. I'm enjoying learning how to mix up what I have to make it fresh. You make it doable and affordable to look good.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it but I have the feeling that oxblood was used in the dying process years ago. I think the term is off-putting too. There are enough colors names to use instead. This shade of red is one of my favorites and I am so glad it popular this fall, although I usually wear it anyway. It looks so good with camel and leopard. :)
ReplyDeleteoh man i love this outfit and i love that jacket!! gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove that cute jacket!

Congratulations on reaching 2000 subscribers! I'm not surprised though, you make style seem so accessible. Love the jacket!
ReplyDeleteLove when you find an old favorite and you're able to incorporate it in your current wardrobe. The jacket is also great <3

Super cute outfit! I love your jeans. I'm really considering some boyfriend jeans but, I don't want to make my husband jealous. :p
ReplyDeleteI'm constantly in awe of your success here, Audrey, and want to congratulate you. (: In other news, I have been amused at how trendy some of my maroon staples have become. We must just be ahead of the curve!
ReplyDeleteYay! 2000 followers! I was 800 something when I started following you.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, I look forward to your posts each day, keep up the good work.
Congrats and a huge thank you! This blog has made me happy to think about what I can wear and has been an incredible inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is exactly what I've been looking for! So crazy that it's from Forever. Sometimes they get it so right, and sometimes... well... we all know. You look adorable as always :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I can see how this bag would be super versatile. The color is great! As is the jacket and the way the rolled jeans give this ensemble a cool vibe. (Also, can I say I'm with you on "oxblood." The word kind of grosses me out.) Way to go on 2000, girl! I can see why you'd get there...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 2,000 followers Audrey! That is amazing and so well-deserved!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching 2,000 followers! Love your purse - goes so well with your outfit. I think that's why I am such a hoarder - everything comes back in style. How do I decide what to toss???!!

gorgeous of course! I love the whole outfit and yeah, who the heck thought of "oxblood"? :) Anyway, you're a fabulous blogger and seriously I knew it would only be a matter of time before you'd take over the internets ;) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 2000 - that is such an accomplishment! Keep up the great work girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about the maroon naming. I had a post about it last week and a friend of mine asked what the difference between ox's blood and other animal's blood is. Ew, but true. I'll stick with maroon ;)
Found your blog through pinterest & L.O.V.E. it!!!!!! Great ideas for a much overdue wardrobe update! Thanks for the inspiration!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 2000!!! Yay for you and your blog! :)
ReplyDeleteAre those leopard pumps recent? Are they the Merona Maye pumps? I saw the plain black version of those in the store and they were so comfy, and I was *maybe* thinking of getting the leopard print ones... which totally surprises me because I hate animal print, haha! But if they are the Maye pumps, are they comfortable?? OH DUH. I just clicked on the link in your post and they are. I just need to know how you like them! :)
Love the outfit!!! Especially the leather jacket. Congrats on 2000. That's amazing. I'm hoping to get my blog numbers up to 100 subscribers. Slowly and surely wins the race. I love your blog by the way.

ReplyDeleteLOVE the shoes so much I went out and bought them last night! I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Audrey! I thoroughly enjoy following your blog as I feel you hit that perfect spot of fashionable and put together, but never over the top. I have enjoyed following your steps to building a better wardrobe, and it has helped me put a lot more thought into my purchases and has encouraged me to mix things up that I wouldn't normally. Thank you thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Susan! I'm soooo glad to hear how you're building a better wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog via a Pinterest link and I am SO GLAD I did! You give such great advice and your looks are so REAL. I have these pieces (or at least access to them) and it makes recreating the looks so easy. It's awesome to see someone look so fashionable with a normal gal's budget and lifestyle. Thanks so much for sharing!!! :) -Lauran
