Back From the Dead

Top: H&M (similar #1similar #2similar #3)  |  Navy skirt: Forever 21 (similar #1, similar #2, similar #3)  |  Cap toe flats: Old Navy (similar #1, similar #2)  |  Tote: ebags.com (shop)

I put this top in the "donate" pile like...an embarrassingly long time ago.  I thought that particular wave of clothes had already been donated, and I was kind of sad because I pinned this outfit a while ago and thought it'd be the perfect top for it.  One of those times you wish you hadn't been brave and cleaned out your closet.  You can't see it in these pics, but the top has buttons and puckering at the bust, giving it more character than a plain white tee, which is what I was planning to substitute with in its place.  But as I sifted through my giveaway piles to figure out what I could maybe sell (more to come soon!) there was the top, back from the dead!  Booyah.  So, here it is.  An outfit too simple for me to ever think of on my own (which is weird because my style is simple...), but one that I love.

Are there pieces you wish you hadn't gotten rid of?

  1. One time I donated a top to Goodwill that I decided I loved, after I got rid of it. I went back into Goodwill and then....IT WAS THERE! So I bought it AGAIN!

I donated some pants that were snug, but now I wish they were still in my closet because they would fit fine. It's hard to know when to give up on clothes that are small.

  4. Don't you love when you find close from the long lost closet!?!? I've learned to throw items in a bin for safe keeping if there is potential for wanting it later. Sometimes they even end up in a costume box which is even more scary to think about. I guess you just never know! Love those shoes I can't believe they are from Old Navy! xoxo

  5. I think this might be the perfect outfit. Simple and so chic. And there is nothing worse then giving something away and regretting, so yay for finding it before it was lost!

  7. I am an over donater! I don't like having clothes I don't wear so I donate a lot, and regret it a lot too :) You look adorable.

Yes, all the time. Every time I donate something, a few weeks later I always find something else that would have been 'so cute' with it.. hehe

Yippee for finding a top before it was gone. I am so bad about donating my clothes. The only time I get rid of things is when they don't fit or it can't be repaired.

Cute and simple outfit. Fave part are the flats. I have given away a dress in the past that I shouldn't have! ;)

  17. I really like your outfit and the cute capped toed flats. I just bought a pair of cute nude flats with bows. I'm starting to have a slight obsession with bows. I'm pretty good about what I give away. I'm waiting for the weather to change for good so i can clean my closet out again and make room for my fall/winter stuff.

  19. To simple to think of on your own - love it. That happens to me all the time, which is why I come copy you (and your copies!). It looks fabulous. And I totally have rescued things form the consignment shop pile, which is why I often let them sit for a few weeks before actually dropping them off ...

  20. Honestly, I've gotta say no. I'm the worst at finally letting go of something after its LONG dead, so once I do give it up, it should never ever come back... haha

  21. It's funny how sometime the simplest outfits take the longest to put together! I think sometimes I over think my outfits. You look great!

  23. I had a green(slightly lighter than olive) bomber style corduroy jacket a few years back that I am kicking myself for not keeping.

  24. Its a good thing you saved that top from the donate pile. A nice basic like that can almost always be put to good use.

  25. I love that outfit! I tend to be pretty hesitant to get rid of clothes--there's one pair of green jeans that I gave away because they didn't fit me anymore...I still think about those! I don't think it would have done any good to keep them, because they still wouldn't fit me now, but oh well.
