Tank: Old Navy | Skirt: c/o Sway Chic (shop) | Denim jacket: Forever 21 | Sandals: c/o Shoetopia (shop) | Necklace: c/o Sway Chic (shop)
I spent most of the weekend in this outfit hosting friends in town, watching the Olympics, and if you follow me on Instagram (moomooaudrey) you may have seen that I stole a kid and took her to the zoo. For some reason I'm hesitant to wear tank tops for normal outfits because to me, they are workout clothes. Why do I keep forgetting that all you have to do is throw on a scarf or a cool necklace and pair it with some fun sandals to make a tank top outfit look pulled together?
Anyway, I was going to write about how I LOVE watching the Olympics, but I need to get to work. For now, remember to enter the latest giveaway to help bless a girl in Mexico!

If I know I'm going to wear a jacket, I love to wear tank tops. It eliminates the dreaded bunching up at the pits syndrome. I love this look, skirt with a denim jacket, soo cute!
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! I love your skirt, and that necklace is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I absolutely love this skirt and the necklace, you pulled it together so well.
ReplyDeleteI always shy away from tank tops as well but you are right you just need to get some cute accessories

Please tell me I'm not the only one whose life is being taken over by the Olympics :) Also nice to know I'm not the only one on feeling not quite fully dressed with a tank top in a regular outfit... but seriously all it needs is that striped skirt, and it looks so effortlessly chic!
ReplyDeleteI got that skirt from sway chic too! Great minds :) (it was also one of the few things that fit my belly!)
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous.
Love the skirt and the sandals! I just ordered the sandals... such a good price and exactly what I have been looking for! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your skirt, it looks so great! such a great piece, it can be worn casual but also chic, a maxi skirt is unfortunately still missing in my closet :-(

You look adorable. Sway Chic contacted me, too, then realized they had too many people wanting to participate and now they're asking me to wait, haha. I have never had a problem wearing tank tops as real clothes, but I generally layer, so that must be the trick!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and I love it! I'm a thrifty person at heart, so I'm always looking for new ways to wear my old clothes. Plus, your style seems fairly similar to mine. I'm totally following you!
ReplyDeleteI have 3 cotton tanks from Target that look about like this one (black, white, and army green). I wear them all the time! I especially need them for wearing under tops that are either too sheer or too short. And then there's tanks under cardigans...basically plain & simple tanks are a necessity haha.

In the winter I wear a lot of tank top under my sweaters, with cardigans jackets etc. Loving your new maxi skirt..it's a keeper for sure. :)

I think it looks great with or without the jean jacket. Another reason to love maxi skirts :D.

I'm the same way about tank tops but I think you look so polished and love the jean jacket :-)
ReplyDeleteI need to invest in a good, sturdy yet stylish denim jacket...
ReplyDeleteTank tops are my go-to when I'm wanting to dress a skirt down a bit, so I love this look! Especially with the denim jacket :)

I love this! A simple tank with a maxi is always fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is perfect. I'm the same way about tanks too, but finally am coming around to the idea that it's ok to wear when I'm not working out (sitting on the couch eating popcorn).
ReplyDeleteHi I found you trough Pinterest and know what? I opened a new blog with your same motivation: improve my style!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to set it up in the next few days and... somebody already noticed something changed in my daily outfits! ;D
