Top: Old Navy (similar #1, similar #2) | Skirt: Forever 21 (similar #1, similar #2) | Wedges: Target (shop) | Necklace: Old Navy
I have been wanting to recreate this pin for sooooo long:

I don't have a schnazzy neon bag or rockstar hair and makeup, but I love the outfit that came together nonetheless. What I learned from this girl's outfit is that super simple pieces can be made into an interesting outfit with color choices. So, while it's difficult to use layering to make an outfit interesting in the summer, playing with color is a different route you can go to spruce things up. A simple touch of an orangey-red pendant against her blue top combined with a bright yellow bag make her outfit pop! I tried it with my green top and yellow pendant and loved the freshness of it altogether! AND, for some reason it feels soooooo dang good when you finally recreate a pin that's inspired you for so long, you know what I mean?

green look great on you! xo

I totally know what you mean. I pin all kinds of outfits I want to recreate, and then when I'm standing in front of my closet for 10 minutes it doesn't even occur to me to look at my pin boards! Duh. This is going to be a late new year's resolution: use my inspiration boards for actual inspiration!

ReplyDeleteSupa cute outfit! Wish I could pull that off, but I'm afraid I'd look frumpy!
ReplyDeleteI love this! American Apparel also has a similar skirt. I love simple skirts like this. It's a tad on the pricy side but they do have a 15% off code, and also another sale going on where you can get a certain percent off if you spend 150, 200, etc. I found your blog on pinterest and am really loving it.
ReplyDeleteLoving that pop of color from the necklace...so fun! Great look!
ReplyDeleteI recently paired yellow & green together & loved how the yellow added that something extra. You look is simple but chic.

ReplyDeleteLove it when a pinned inspiration finally comes through. I've been working on my "to make" pin board lately but need to get back on that "to wear" one. And I'm totally pinning yours to it - LOVE the color pop! Fresh and fun. Totally fools the eye though it's a super simple outfit, which is my style all the way :)
ReplyDeleteThis blouse is so pretty and I love the color! The yellow and jade are perfect together.
