According to your comments on yesterday's post, it looks like I'm not the only one around these parts with a secret blog! You peeps made me laugh.
Okay, on to the clothes...let's talk about shorts. I have two pairs of colored shorts, and I'm loving them. For some reason, for a long time I was under the impression that shorts were boring. I dunno. I think I associated shorts with plain tank tops and didn't think there was anything else you could do with them. That is, of course, until I started paying attention to style blogs and magazines and realized you could make some really cute outfits with shorts. One of the easiest ways I've found to do that is by wearing colored ones. I think they take an outfit with shorts up a notch without having to do much, you know what I mean? Grab some colored shorts and a cute top, and you're good to go. Do you own any colored shorts?

Love this outfit because while it's casual its really chic!
ReplyDeleteEasy-breezy summer style. I love this. Colored shorts and such a cute top!
ReplyDeleteWe are on the same wavelength, my dear! I just did a post about 4 ways I am wearing my coral shorts! I LOVE colored shorts!
ReplyDeleteI own a pair of coral shorts and mint but nothing that exciting!

Love the yellow shorts! So cute :)
ReplyDeleteI have 2 pairs of shorts in TOTAL. One khaki, and one periwinkle-ish color. I'm just so self conscious about wearing shorts. I'm a skirt girl, all the way!
ReplyDeleteI just got a pair of cobalt shorts because I felt bored by my denim pairs! Now I love them so much that I think I may need shorts in every color of the rainbow :)

I love the proportions of this outfit, a wonderful blend of slouchy and tailored. And yellow? Perfectly summery!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I'm doing a post tomorrow on shorts as well. I'm focusing on neutral colored shorts so I think I'll link back here so people can see some fun colored shorts!
ReplyDeleteNone of my real life friends know about my blog, except for my husband, and I'm not sure he reads it. I think I would be a little embarrassed about it!
ReplyDeleteMy shorts are fairly neutral... denim and lace... I'm not a big fan of shorts, honestly. I'm a skirt girl!
Yes, I love colored shorts! But I used to feel the same way you did--I owned one, maybe two pairs of shorts and mostly wore jeans in the summer. Now I wonder how I did that without turning into a sweaty mess!
ReplyDeleteQuite a few years ago, I either read or heard someone (it was either a blogger, celebrity, or TV personality) say that shorts should never be worn by a lady. I was dumb enough to actually buy that, and refused to wear shorts for at least two summers. So stupid, I know. What did I think it was? 1924?
ReplyDeleteI love colored shorts, though. I have yet to get a pair, mine are all pretty neutral and boring. :/

ReplyDeleteI have red, pink, cobalt, and turquoise. I have had the turquoise ones for years and used to get pretty funny looks every time I wore them! Now I am just on trend. :) I am loving the colored jeans trend, but the shorts are more practical for my lifestyle and climate. Now when fall gets here, I'll probably have to invest in some colored denim too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit. That bag and those sandals are just the perfect finishing touch to so many of your looks. ;)
I only own two pairs of colored shorts too! You styled this so cute, I'm inspired to let someone take a pic of me wearing shorts now lol

Shorts are a necessity in the summer heat. I definitely have a love-hate relationship with them, but they cannot be avoided! I love colored shorts- I have a pair of jade green (debuting next week) and coral, I also want a cute pair of printed ones as well!
ReplyDeleteI have too many shorts, colored, floral, dyi shorts..i love shorts! Great smile!

I got brave and bought a pair of bright green bermudas for the summer. I'm trying... :)
ReplyDeleteI own two pair of shorts. two pair? or two pairs? either way, I own two and one is pink, the other gross and embarrassing cut offs. I never wear the cutoffs out of the house...I promise. But the pink ones aren't my favorite, so I'm in the market for new ones. I love yours!
ReplyDeleteI don't play well wish shorts once it is too warm to wear tights... you know, the kind of weather shorts were designed for. The good news, however, is that you seem to do JUST great. (:
ReplyDeleteI just had to go back and read that post to see what you said. I kept mine a secret for almost a year, only told my family because I wanted to use the blog to update people on my travels while in Europe!
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I love your outfit. I have an awesome pair of blue shorts, but I think I need more. And more ideas for styling them too, I'll be sure to check back here for your suggestions!
Super cute outfit!
