Dress: Old Navy (shop) | Necklace: Nordstrom's | Sandals: Target (shop) | Clutch: (shop, more colors)
So far this maxi dress has proved to be a fantastic investment, and it is becoming my best friend. In just the short couple of weeks I've had it, I've worn it 4 times. When I had a long day ahead of me and needed to be comfortable but presentable, this dress was perfect. When I had that dilemma of wanting to be dressed up but worried about being overdressed, maxi dress came to the rescue. When I'm going to have the same dilemma this coming weekend, this dress will provide relief once again. When I desperately needed a nap yesterday but had to go to a party, I found solace in my trusty maxi dress. And yesterday, I thought of how to style it for winter so that in November I could wear it and give my Thanksgiving food baby the room it needs to fully mature. And any friend that encourages me to indulge in gluttonous behavior is a keeper in my book.

Looks lovely on you. Unfortunately, maxi dresses have the opposite effect on me. I'm not 100% comfortable in a Maxi dress. I own about 4 and I rarely wear them. Definitely not appropriate for my job and the day I wore one while on vacation, I kept pulling it up. So I've resereved my maxi dress wearing for going out.

I love maxi dresses and skirts! this one is so pretty! love the color and love it belted!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in this maxi! I love the color. And I totally agree, I have a few in my closet and am constantly wearing them. They are so easy!
ReplyDeleteI have a purple maxi skirt that I haven't bothered to hang back up because I've worn it once a week since buying it. I find myself in that "just a bit too much stubble to get away with a mid-length skirt" situation once a week, and it is usually too humid for pants on that day. I have two other maxi skirts, but one is too heavy for summer and the other harder to style. The purple one goes with everything and is so cozy. I'm ordering it in black because I love it so much.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered this in the ivy color, I believe. So excited to get some good use out of mine too. You look great. I like the accessories you've paired with it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress and necklace!

My maxi skirt is my new favorite...it's just so comfy and I like that I can pair it with different tops for different looks :)
ReplyDeleteLove that maxi on you!

This is such a great color on you!
ReplyDeleteMy current go-to wardrobe friend is my black/white striped cotton maxi skirt! It's soooooo comfy in the 100 degree weather we're having, plus it's effortless to style. I like that I can give a little retro vibe, make it look boho, keep it funky and trendy...it's just really a versatile and easy to wear piece.
ReplyDeleteBut I think I need a dress like this...I mean seriously, that blue is just divine!

That maxi is great! I love the colour and the fit - I'm still searching for one that flatters my shape well but I love yours.

I love the color, and the versatility of this dress! It's such a classic piece that can be dressed up or down. You look amazing :)
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my maxi is right up there. :) Love this one on you! I cant wait to see how you style it in the cooler months

I really love this dress. So so cute!

Maxis are so easy to dress up and down, they are incredibly versatile! Yours is a beautiful color and I love the necklace and clutch you added to it. I've been leaning pretty heavily on a printed pair of shorts that I keep pairing with neutral tops/blazers for lunches, errands and dinners out!
ReplyDeleteCould you be any more elegant?! This is such a good look on you, well selected.
ReplyDeleteI just thrifted a great brown maxi that I can't wait to wear. I have seen throughout the bloggy world that they are quite versatile. Also, it's right up your alley because it is the longer version of pajama dresses for you! (:
ReplyDeleteRight now the most repetitive thing I'm wearing is a silver bracelet from Madewell. In the summer with all the short sleeves, my wrists get self-conscious and they want something special to cover them up :). I'm not into the "arm party" look but my bracelet is just simple and goes with anything.

Ooh, I love the color or this dress!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite piece right now is the Old Navy Tami. I have 7 different colors so I wear it it constantly! Soft, comfy, and cool.
Such a great dress, and the color looks amazing on you! I always wear what I call my "buffet pants" at Thanksgiving, which are basically yoga pants with a lot of stretch. Your idea is much more stylish. ;)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this outfit!!! Yay for the trusty maxi dress!

Not only do I love this color on you, I also LOVE the versatility of a maxi dress- comfort and style all in one. Can't beat it. Maybe I'll wear one for Thanksgiving too! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Audrey, this colour on you. It's so amazing. You look so comfortable and lovely :)
ReplyDeleteMy bff right now is a short skirt. It's weird, because I would have NEVER worn short skirts even a year ago (we're talking mid-thigh here) but for some reason I'm cool with it now. Scratch that, I love it now. I guess I think about my shorts which are shorter than my skirts and think well, if no one bats an eye at an Amazon wearing shorts, they won't mind an Amazon in a mini skirt! And I'm right. So far, no one has minded, not even at work. Success!
Great dress and necklace! I am so not ready for Thanksgiving...I feel like summer is just starting. With the Nordstrom anniversary sale and Piperlime's fall previews...it seems like fall is just around the corner! I would love to see how you transition the maxi into fall. I love my maxi dress too and I am thinking scarfs & cardis with them for fall.
