A couple of weeks ago, I posted an outfit with an aqua dress and a bright yellow cardigan that I wore to have lunch at my friend's company and talked about how it felt a little weird (and fun) to prance around in that while everyone else was in neutral business attire. Though it was fun, when I visited my friend again I decided to dress a little more..."grown-up"? Haha. Plus, I love business attire!
I knew full on business garb wasn't necessary since I was a visitor, so I chose trouser jeans, which I love for casual business style and for the summer since they let your legs breathe. And this top from Daisy Rae is becoming a perfect summer top for me as it can be dressed up or dressed down. Turns out it was casual Friday, so it didn't matter either way. But I still got some stares, so maybe I'm just funny looking or I had a booger on my face. You'd tell me if I had a booger on my face, right?

I've decided people are just jealous of how good you look in this and that is why they are staring! I can't believe you didn't get a bunch of compliments instead of stares!

ReplyDeleteQuite frankly, you shouldn't be concerned about fitting in. As long as your outfits reflect you, your husband, and the God you serve, then by all means wear two brightly colored pieces together.

I recently went to a congressional reception at the Air and Space Museum in DC, and while it wasn't a formal event, Husband was going to be wearing a suit since he was leaving straight from work. The verdict became maxi dress. Overall, it worked pretty well.

I would totally tell you if there was a booger on your face...haha! But I doubt that's why they stared. I'd bet money it's because they wished they had your awesome sense of style :)
