Dress: Target (shop - color is Xavier Navy) | Striped cardi: Target (similar #1, similar #2) | Wedges: Kohl's (shop) | Clutch: DSW.com (shop #1, shop #2)
I was trying to copycat this pin since I loved the deliciousness of navy and cognac (or tan...whatever it's called). My dress feels more like pajamas than hers appears to be, though. I'm a sucker for a dress that feels like pajamas. I figure if I'm ever lucky enough to be a mom my wide collection of pajama dresses will come in handy and translate well to chasing kids and bending down to clean up things that I don't even want to know about. So really, I'm not a sucker--I'm just investing in the future. That's what I tell myself, anyway.

I love the mix of these colors! I think anything that feels like pajamas is a great thing! There's nothing I look forward to the most during the day than thinking about jumping into pajamas come 6 pm :-)

It's so elegant on you! I love that the shoes and belt both have the cognac and white color combo, it perks the deeper navy hue right up!

Excellent planning for the future! I love these types of dresses. Target has a great selection online too! I'm wearing one today that I've had for three years! Wash and wear! The details like you talked about in the other post is what elevates the style! Maybe we do dress alike! Be careful with those Kohl's wedges- mine broke Saturday night. OK, maybe because I just pull them on and off instead of using the buckles, but I was still bummed!
ReplyDeleteNooooo! I pull them on and off without using the buckles too. I'm so sad to hear about your wedges!
ReplyDeleteI love finding clothes that feel like pj's but are actually cute! You look great!

So adorable!!! I love the navy and tan together and all your pieces fit perfectly with one another.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I didn't wear tan/cognac before but it is my new favorite accessories color - it goes with everything! It looks fantastic with the blue. You look great today!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great copy-cat from the pin picture. Those two colours look stylish together. Yes, pyjama dresses are a good investment for said reasons!
ReplyDeleteFirstly dear, you are absolutely beautiful! Your smile brightens up the whole room :)
ReplyDeleteAnd secondly, your outfit is sooo cool! I really love your dress and your clutch. So pretty!

I have (and love) this dress. Your site helped me shop my closet yesterday - I didn't do a belt, but I paired this with a crisp white cardigan, white strappy sandals, and bright teal beaded necklace. I got a lot of compliments. I love this look. I tried really hard to get this tan belt from Target to work with the navy dress (http://www.target.com/p/merona-color-sknny-belt-tan/-/A-14148977#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink). I couldn't get the loop/tie right. I'll have to remember how you did it in these pictures! Awesome!
ReplyDeleteTarget has a few belts that are similar to what you have on that I saw there last week: http://www.target.com/p/merona-jute-rope-with-buckle-tabs-tan/-/A-14153963#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink, http://www.target.com/p/merona-linen-stretch-belt-brown/-/A-14130849#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink,
I *love* this dress. I bought it this spring before we went to France and Italy and it was perfect. I ran a few stitches across the shoulders of the dress and pulled them tight to give it more of wide V and less of a "muscle T" look on me (muscle T = bad for me :) and I usually end up wearing it with a belt that is super similar to the one you're wearing. It was perfect with flip-flops and flats for walking around town and my go-to nude heels for the evening. If it was cool, I'd wear a Kelly green cardi or a cream and tan zebra print one from ON. Loved it! It's continuing right on into fall with some leggings and cognac low heeled boots. Such a stellar piece. (And it's nice to have my style validated by seeing it here :)
