Dress: Target (shop) | Wedges: Target (shop) | Cardigan: Target (shop similar) | Belt: H&M | Tote: ebags.com (shop)
Gotta be quick today because I've begun the first leg of my travels!
I wore this outfit when we took my mom out to dinner for Mother's Day! This dress was one of the items I bought on a recent Target haul, along with the coral shorts from a few outfit posts ago. I love the versatility of this dress. It can be paired with so many different colors, completer pieces, and types of belts, so I knew it would be a keeper. Have you had purchases that you knew instantly you'd keep? What were they? And what requirements make it a no-brainer for you?

I like the print of that dress. The colors of the individual prints make it go with everthying I guess.
ReplyDeleteThe keeper for me is that cardigan you're wearing. I bought the mustard cardi after seeing you wear it and it goes with everything. No Posts yet though.

I have a very similar dress I bought at Old Navy this weekend ( I temporarily forgot I was boycotting them because I had had such a crappy day!!). I love the navy and yellow together, so cute and fresh :)
ReplyDeleteI have almost bought that dress at least 3 times already--this outfit might push me over the edge. It's adorable with the braided belt!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress! I bought the same one recently but didn't think to pair it with a belt!

I really like this outfit... I think you could wear it just about anywhere and look great. I almost purchased it, but they didn't have my size in the store so I figured it wasn't meant to be. You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've seen that dress at target and love it. Of course it looks fab with the mustard cardi!
ReplyDeleteAUDREY. Of course I tried that dress on, and of course it looked dumb on me, and looks adorable on you. This is just getting ridiculous BUT who cares because you look awesome. I love the mustard and the way it accents the other colours in the dress. Charming!
ReplyDeletei've seen that dress at target before - I love it on you! especially belted with the yellow cardigan!!
ReplyDeleteI love this dress so much! And funny thing is, my colleague was wearing this dress today as I read your blog post. I love how it can be styled so many different ways and with so many different colours! I need a few dresses like this in my closet.

you look lovely, audrey! i love dresses and prints like this that can be matched with a multitude of different colors or layers!
ReplyDeleteSo I haven't been to Target in probably two months. I know! What's wrong with me?! I am going today. And I will search for that dress until I find it. Love! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw that dress and thought it was pretty flimsy. What do you think of it now that you have worn it. I still love it and want it, but am unsure of the quality and fabric. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure what you mean by flimsy. It's not structured like a J.Crew dress would probably be, but I didn't notice anything about the fabric being any more flimsy than a normal flowy spring/summer dress. I've felt some dresses where I thought, "This could easily rip a hole," or some that are so thin that they show lots of lines and things you don't want showing, but I don't think that about this one. In fact, it seems less prone to that than other Target dresses. It does run quite large in my opinion, though.
ReplyDeleteYou look woderful in this look.I like that you added tan accessories and mustard cardi is fab too.

I love this outfit. I think for me the biggest factor is how it fits. So when I try it on if it is something that feels/looks like it was made for my body type than I get it! I would love it if you linked this up at my weekly fashion link party.

I love this dress. It seems to run large though. They only had one left in my store, and were out of stock in all the nearby stores. Do you think there are any easy and quick fixes to make it fit better (the straps feel huge for me)? I tried a safety pin at the shoulders, and that seems to help. Is it weird to buy a dress and safety pin it to make it fit?
ReplyDeleteTo me it just didn't feel like it would hold up after many wearings. I think I will get it if I see it again at my Target. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteIt does run large, but I wouldn't buy the dress if it doesn't fit you well. I would just buy a smaller size that actually fits or not buy the dress. However, you could probably sew the straps at the shoulders instead of using a safety pin.
ReplyDeleteDo you feel like you need to wear a slip with this dress ?
ReplyDeleteI wore it and felt like people were staring and giving me that "I can see everything " look
Once I took it off I held it up and I could see across it
But I might just be overreacting
I wear a slip under most skirts and dresses just cuz I don't like having to worry about anything being see-through and to smooth over any unflattering lumps! Haha
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to start wearing slips under skirts and dresses also
ReplyDeleteI normally wear spanx with EVERYTHING
But with skirts and dresses I might just have to add slips
I mean at the end if the day spanx are just right tight shorts right !??
You should do a post about the "right" undergarment for certain type of clothes
