The last picture is how I planned to wear this outfit, but a rainy morning last week bullied me into boots and a cardigan. I think I like it better this way, anyway. I love me a clean brown, black and white look!
And, I miss this cardigan. It was one of the first I'd bought, some 5-6 years ago. I wore it all.the.time, but it hasn't gotten much play this year since I've been learning to utilize other pieces in my wardrobe. Whenever I tried to wear the black cardigan this year it felt like old news, but a clean white skirt seems to make this old favorite fresh. I hope I can find more ways to wear it that keep it feeling new! Are there old favorites in your closet that you want to make fresh again?

This looks so crisp and clean! Love the necklace too :)

This is so crisp and pretty, and I love that it's transitional! I have a few dresses that I wore like crazy in the past but don't now, and I'd like to update with accessories.
ReplyDeleteBlack and white is always so classic but I like your twist with the brown boots thrown in...cute! I have plenty pieces in my closet I'd like to freshen up a bit but some just need to go, I fear. =)
ReplyDeleteI like how you added the brown boots, belt, and bag to the classic black and white look. I used to only buy boring black, white, and grey pieces but now I'm all about color. :)

That's definitely a great cardigan - I really, really like it!

I saw a girl in a very similar outfit out walking yesterday. And it reminded me how great 'classic' pieces can look together. I really like the combo and I need to add more things like simple black cardigans to my closet.
ReplyDeleteI like both looks but I agree with you that the cardi and boots are even better than the necklace and wedges. I LOVE mixing neutrals!
ReplyDeleteI have a khaki cropped cardi that I would love to freshen up. I will have to contemplate that over the summer :)
Such a cute look... I Love that white skirt! I hate that feeling when have your oufit planned in the morning.. and you wake up and you really dont feel like putting it on bc of the weather... great job adding the boots nd making it work!

just love your style - so classy, simple, yet chic. I went to try on that skirt at F21 and just didn't like the material of it, but in your picture it looks phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteLove your hair cut! Love your outift, LOVE your blog basically :) Happy I found it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alycia! I've been following some of your boards on Pinterest for a while, so it's really fun that you found my blog! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with your left eye?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I seriously LOVE this outfit!! I think I'm going to have to start following your blog because every time I look through the WIWW thumbnails I always choose yours because your outfit looks so cute! I got that skirt from F21 a couple weeks ago, too, and I love it! I think I might have to try it in the way you wore it. I like the rainy day outfit the best, too.
ReplyDeleteThat cardi is a darling...those big buttons are so fun! I'm going to try to make a comeback for a fun spring coat I've had for years...grass green is in, so it should be a winner :) Looooving the black/white together by the way, esp with just a touch of carmel-y leather!
