Dress: Target | Jacket: Forever 21 (shop) | Belt & Shoes: Target | Necklace: World Market
I first wore this outfit to church two Sundays ago on an 85 degree day. It was far too warm for the jacket, but I liked the olive/cognac combo so much that I left it on as long as possible, just before I almost passed out from heat exhaustion. The things you do to preserve a good color combo. (Okay, hopefully you know that I'm just kidding....) I've worn this outfit a few more times since then, too. I can't help it! It feels very "me," and when I find a good thing I like to milk it for all it's worth.
But maybe I need to stop doing that. Case in point: I wore my favorite skinny jeans so much that I ripped a hole in the seat of them. I realized it this Sunday when I felt the chair on my skin at church. I had been walking around before discovering it, so I really hope I didn't accidentally moon anyone! Sad times for my jeans, but funny times at church.

This post is so ME! Two weeks ago I lost my favorite pair of skinny jeans as well...the seat wore right out from wearing them several times a week. You just can't help putting on something that makes you feel so good! I love this look as well and would be wearing it just as many times myself!
ReplyDeleteThat jacket is such a great piece!
ReplyDeleteLOL to your story! At least someone got a good show! Love this little jacket!
ReplyDeleteThat would make for funny times at church!!! :D I wore jeans to church on Sunday, which felt weird because I usually dress up. This combo is really lovely--the cognac and olive complement each other beautifully.

The olive and camel color is such a beautiful pairing! That is hilarious about your jeans, but agreed, very sad! Hate when a favorite pair of jeans gets holes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, following you now!

I got those sandals at Target last year for $7(!). I'm excited to get another season out of them. Love the jacket!
ReplyDeleteOkay...you just CRACKED me up! I did the exact same thing! I wore my favorite black skinnies so much, I tore a whole in the crotch....awesome....

Love this outfit :)
ReplyDeleteLove this combo, the green dress really suits you. And I think we've all worn a jacket in mildly inappropriate weather to preserve an outfit. Nothing wrong with that. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this color combination too! It is so perfect. Also, SO jealous you are have 85* days. I am rejoicing if it hits 65* right now. Love this whole outfit on you. It's perfection. - Katy
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you - I rewear combinations I like to my heart's content... sometimes at the risk of being boring. BUT: it's really nice to have a go-to outfit for those days when you're staring blankly at the closet! Love this mix of dress and leather jacket (plus a great necklace), by the way.
ReplyDeleteI really love the color combo and the shape of the dress is great!
ReplyDeleteI think you should wear clothes that make you feel good. What are you saving them for? Sure, they wear out and sure, favorites are hard to replace, but what good are they doing you, sitting in the drawer. Wear 'em and love 'em, I say. ;)
ReplyDeleteAw man, I totally wanted that Target dress but it didn't fit me quite right! You built an awesome outfit for it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that color combo and friend, I've ripped a hole in my favorite jeans before too...unfortunately it was very very noticeable and I was in church AND no one told me until I got home. I immediately got new friends. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit and your blog! I found you through EBEW, and I'm a new follower. Feel free to pop over to my blog! I love this color combination on you.

you're silly! aw man, loving this outfit so much and now finally regretting not scooping up this dress when I had the chance. I could never make it work for me or picture how I would wear it ... until now :( You look great though! so rock it even if it is burning you up :)
ReplyDeleteThese colors look fabulous on you! Also, you have an adooorable smile. Just sayin'. Here's to being accidentally inappropriate in church! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way you styled this dress. I almost bought it, but passed it up, and now I'm regretting that decision! Just found you through EBEW and we have a lot of similar pieces, so I'm definitely following you now---you're adorable!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have bought this dress had I not seen it on Kendi last summer! Who knew it would be my most remixable dress? Thank you for stopping by, Laura! And thanks for following too. :)
ReplyDeletei ripped a hole in my favorite jeans from high school. i was so desperate to not let them go that i patched them using fabric from another pair of jeans. it took some serious convincing from my sisters to finally get rid of them. :)
