Remember how in my last post I mentioned getting caught by the neighbors while taking outfit pics? It happened. Again. For the second day in a row. This time, by the gardener. Bah! After I exercised my lying skills again, he got self-conscious that I would snap pictures of him though I promised I wouldn't. Since he was working out there for quite a while, indoors it was for me.
This is what I got before the gardener came...
I'm sad that my earrings hardly ever show in pictures. I'm wearing huge jade colored earrings that pop against the black.
My mom used to comment on how I wore too much black and other dark colors, which is still up for debate, in my opinion. But really, who cares? Even if she was right, I LOVE black! I've had her voice in the back of my mind steering me away from black, but I'm just going to embrace it. When I put on this top I was reminded of how much I love black. This black blouse is soooo easy and effortless, but I don't feel like a schlump. And that's always a good thing.

Yesterday I think my neighbor may have seen me taking pictures and I was embarrassed. That and the fact that it was below 20 degrees outside - I'm staying inside for awhile! Love your belt!
ReplyDeleteI lovelove this belt!! So you got caught so now you're hiding inside to take pics? haha :) You have a good inside spot, I'm jealous! I have never been asked what I'm doing, but I have a planned out excuse: "I'm taking a self portrait for a photography class I'm taking at college".. even though I'm 27 I would still pretend to be in college. :) -Rachel (ftb)
ReplyDeleteLove the black and the belt. Incidentally, I'm wearing all black today. You can't go wrong with black. Question? Are you wearing a belt with your jeans also. I hardly belt a top when wearing jeans because I already have a belt on with my jeans. Just wondering

I always love a look rooted in dark colors and this is great - the addition of the leopard belt is such a nice touch.

What the heck?! Caught two days in a row??
ReplyDeleteThe black is fabulous -- and the leopard belt is perfect.
It cracks me up that he was so awkward about it. I get caught all the time and I don't even explain, I just look at them like, "Yeah, what? I'm taking photos. So what?" As for this outfit, I don't have any complaints. It looks lovely to me!
ReplyDeleteI'm not wearing a belt with my jeans--I try not to buy pants that require me to wear belts.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm a whimp, okay? Hahaha. I took indoor pics yesterday and the day before that too...not sure what I'll do tomorrow yet. Indoor is just easier! And I think the lighting is better anyway. Plus, it was raining yesterday. But I feel like my sense of camaraderie with outdoor self-photo bloggers diminishing...haha
ReplyDeleteHahaha... Getting caught in two days??!! My little sister take me the pictures and she always is like Why do you take so many pictures everytime you are going out??
ReplyDeleteBTW... I loooooveeee your outfit.
Love it!! So classy, but fun and edgy! You and I both have Target shopping problems! Maybe we can start a support group. :) Cheers!

Darling pictures. I know how it feels to get "caught" taking pictures. So embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteI used to wear a lot of black back in HS, but have since stopped because I didn't want people to associate me with those day, because I'm a changed woman, I swear. No more grungy, loose clothes. But recently I've been incorporating black back into my wardrobe and am so glad I re-discovered it. It's so freaking chic! And it makes a statement, but in a subtle way. I absolutely, positively love your top with the leopard belt!
ReplyDeleteFriend, I am with you. I LOVE black...wearing it right now actually. haha! It's a classic fall back color, especially when paired with earrings like the ones you're wearing. So cute!
