Dress: H&M | Striped cardigan: Target (shop) | Boots: Dolce Vita via Macy's | Brown tights: Old Navy
Happy Monday! We're starting the week with stripes on stripes. I'm glad I bought this striped cardigan because it makes an outfit more interesting than, say, a plain navy cardi, while still being a little subdued and not too in-your-face.
Umm, and I definitely got caught by a wandering neighbor while taking these pictures. And by "caught" I don't just mean that they saw me. I mean they confronted me and asked what I was doing. Awk.ward. Luckily, my impeccable lying and decent acting skills helped me skirt the awkwardness. Let's not repeat that, though.

I love the cardigan! It's so funny how uncomfortable I get when people pass and I have the tripod out :) oh well maybe with time that awkward feeling will go away!

Love this of course. I'm so into stripes still, I love how you've pattern mixed and made it look so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually wearing stripes in the same colors, just not as thick, and it's a long sleeved top. But I like what you did there with the horizontal and vertical stripes :)

I love the stripes on stripes, the similar colors make them the perfect pair. The dress is adorable on you.
ReplyDeleteI always try to act nonchalant and ignore onlookers. But when I got back through and look at my photos you can TELL when I know there's someone looking.
Hahaha....yeah that awkward self-conscious stare that is caught in pics. I know that one. This time it was hard to avoid it because she started talking to me and asking me what I was doing!
ReplyDeleteYeah! I'm getting over the people passing and seeing me thing--kinda. But this time they came to about 3 feet away from me and asked me what I was doing. Meh!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress! I want a dress like that so badly... is it new at H&M? Ah. I know am so afraid of getting caught by my neighbor...

This dress is a few years old. Sorry! However I've seen updated versions of this dress over the years at H&M from time to time around spring, so you might be lucky and catch it if it's out again this spring!
ReplyDeleteLoving you, you're so sweet! kisses from Milan <3

What a lovely outfit...the proportions are perfect--perfect length of dress, perfect length on the boots and even perfect length with the cardigan! Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your neighbors! Thank goodness you're a quick-thinker--I wouldn't know what to say if that was me!

Haha, taking pictures of yourself is awkward! Love the stripes on stripes. I need to start forcing myself to buy more patterns :)
ReplyDeleteLove the stripes on stripes. Been wanting to try that look myself!
ReplyDeleteAnd that's really weird that the person came up and asked what you were doing. Does your husband take your pictures? Or do you use a tripod? I always thought that these pictures were in your backyard for some reason...
Look at you rocking the stripe on stripe! I love it! I've had one person confront me about my tripod and I sort of told the truth and said "oh, my best friend gave me this skirt for my birthday and really wanted to see me wearing it..." Followers = best friends right?
ReplyDeleteI use a tripod, and I am in my yard type of area...we don't really have a yard. We live in a 4-unit townhouse thing so my neighbor's door is like 3 feet away from where I take pics. But we also live on the alley side of our complex, and people walk through the alley all the time. (a tiny bit sketch...) So this "neighbor" that saw me was really a random person walking in the alley who was creeping around our property, through our fences and near our doorsteps looking for bottles and cans to recycle. Kinda weird, but it happens all the time. However, they usually don't come through our fences and up to our doorsteps.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your pretty style! Stripes on stripes looks great, and I've just started seeing that a lot more - need too try : )

haha I always have this fear of someone coming and finding me take photos of myself for my blog...so awkward! Love this outfit, my favorite is the stripes!! I"m crazy about 2 things: stripes and polka dots. such cute boots too!
ReplyDeleteThe House of Shoes
Thanks, Sarah! I <3 stripes and polka dots too. What about them together? :D http://www.puttingmetogether.com/2011/11/peek-dot.html
ReplyDeleteThe stripes on your cute shirt-dress are very muted, as is its color, so they work great with the bold, wide stripes of the navy-white cardi. I also like the fact that on both pieces the stripes go in opposite ways.
