Sorry for being so quiet on the posting front last week. You know those days when you just don't feel like getting dressed, but you do it anyway because you don't want to get arrested? I'd say most of last week felt like those days. Even though it was a beautiful 75-80 degrees all week, I reluctantly got dressed. Thankfully, colorful pants and a structured jacket are wonderful disguises for reluctance and make it look like you put forth some effort. Colored pants are a great alternative to typical jeans, and a structured jacket pulls together any look.
Sometimes I hesitate to post what I think are simple outfits, but that's how my outfits were all last week. And I'm going to post them. Mostly to defeat the little monster that style blogging can create in me that makes me feel like I have to have a "special" outfit, which doesn't make sense anyway, because pretty much all my outfits are simple, really. When I feel that little monster creep up and I find myself standing in front of my closet way too long, I have to snap myself out of it by telling myself, "Just wear some clothes and get on with your life!" Silly, but true. Just being real, peeps.
On another note, my GlassesUSA.com order came over the weekend and I can't believe how well the virtual mirror worked! These glasses fit! A few of you mentioned numbers 1 and 4, which were also my top choices. The first option was my first choice, but they were sold out, so I got #4. If you follow me on Twitter, you saw that I posted a pic on Instagram.
Alright, longer entry than usual, but I'm heading off to church now. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

What, 75-80 degrees?! I'm so jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat look! Can't go wrong with colored skinnies, stripes and a cute jacket.
I think you have the most classic, perfect style. I always read your posts and think, "What do I have in my closet that could recreate that outfit?" haha! I'm an outfit thief. I admit it. :) You look great!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about trying to find a special outfit! I do the same lol!

I love seeing even the simple looks and I'm glad I'm not the only one that put more "simple" looks on the blog.
ReplyDeleteThe color of your pants are great and I love your shoes! Cute outfit!

Hey Audrey- I'm a new follower and I wanted to say you're doing a great job! I like those pants because they don't look super skinny- more like a straight slim fit.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your simple outfit...looks great, and there ain't nothin' wrong with that :)

These pants are awesome, and the shoes are a fun touch. I've had those stuck in front of the closet days too. Eventually I'm just like 'Loren put on some pants and leave'. I should probably buy cooler pants like these. Might make it easier.
ReplyDeleteI love the color of these pants. They are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteJodi, you are way too kind. Seriously. But, thank you. Those are such sweet things to hear! And, I'm totally an outfit thief, so we can be guilty together.

Sometimes simple outfits are the best! I tried ordering glasses online using something similar to a virtual mirror too! I'm still waiting for them to come in and hope it works out as well as it did for you!
ReplyDeletethis is definitely a good mentality to be reminded of! either way, i love this look, no matter how simple it might seem!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that out of all the style bloggers that I've ever followed, you are the one whose outfits I want to copy. You're always inspiring, even when you think an outfit is "simple." This look is one I'm going to pin...I absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteOhmigosh, thank you, Rachel! That is so sweet and encouraging to hear. Made my day! :)
ReplyDeleteThose colored jeans look great Audrey. They really look good with that striped top. I'm doing a post this Friday for Glasses USA. So glad you like yours. Please chime in Friday on my post about your review of them. I would appreciate it. :)

I love the color of those jeans and they look great with the striped top.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I blog simple outfits because I wear simple outfits. And I like bloggers who post simple outfits because I'm more easily able to take inspiration from them. And I find your simple but elegant inspiring, which is why I'm following you now.

Good for you Audrey! That silly little voice keeps me from posting most nights as well. I love all your outfits, mainly because they are simple (in a good way) ... and something I can recreate myself in some way. Thanks for letting me know you're on Insta ... off to find you there :)
