Fish Eyes

Top: H&M  |  Cardigan: Target  |  Black skinnies: Forever 21  |  Belt: H&M  |  Gold flats: Target  |  Glasses: GlassesUSA.com

Glasses!!!  These are the glasses I ordered from GlassesUSA and while my first choice was unavailable, I'm happy with these too.  They fit perfectly, which was a concern I had with ordering online.  And the best part is that I can see clearly in my periphery.  You might not be able to tell in these pictures, but my eyes are BIG.  Trust me.  My friend nicknamed me "fish eyes," and in high school another friend used to get 3 inches away from me, stare intently at my face and ask, "Can you possibly make your eyes ANY BIGGER?"  And I've been told I look like an anime or cartoon character on more than one occasion.*  These pictures lie.  My eyes are huge.  And because of that, I couldn't see in my peripheral vision with my old frames so I never wore them.  So silly.  Now, I can see!  Plus, these glasses are the perfect accessory to nerd up this gingham look!

Whether for legit vision reasons or just for fun, are you into glasses as an accessory?

*It's okay, you can laugh.  I like my eyes, and I think it's funny that my friend nicknamed me "fish eyes" because it's true!  Sometimes I see candid pics of myself and think "OMG, my eyes are going to pop out of my head..."  Laughing at yourself sometimes is good for you.  :)

  1. those glasses look adorable on you! and with the gingham, you look positively nerdy chic :) I need glasses, so I like to look for fashionable ones (I'm quite picky) but when I didn't need them, I still wore them just for looks!

  4. I like those glasses!  I wish I had glasses but do not need them.  I know people wear them as an accessory but I'm not bold enough to do that yet!  Maybe some day!

  5. I wore glasses from the second grade up until I had my son five years ago and I hated them lol. I like contacts so much better! Glasses look good on you though and if I did go back to wearing glasses, it would have to be a pair as cute as yours : ) I love the gingham and how you belted your cardi. I agree with Laura, you look nerdy chic and oh so cute! -Dreama

  7. Audrey, I've missed you, too! This outfit is SO cute.  Reminds me of a certain inspiration photo from J. Crew that we both have pinned. I am on the market for new frames, too. Maybe I'll check out that site. Love the ones I have which are white and clear, but it's a style that's hard to find. I've not shopped online, though.

  8. Love the glasses! I wear glasses for reading, but hate the pair I have (old and ugly). My sister just bought glasses online at this great site (can't remember the name off the top of my head), so I'm planning to get some. Just need to find a place to get my eyes checked and a new prescription for cheap...

  9. Now I'm gonna be all staring at your eyeballs trying to see if they look big. It's pretty rad that your glasses fit so well! I'm lucky enough to not have to deal with glasses, so I don't fully understand the challenge.

  10. I love your blog! Saving it to my favs. I have those same fun yellow flats with cut outs but mine are from Kmart, go figure. You inspired me to buy some COLORED skinny pants today, I got Khaki. I gotta start small with the color.
    Love your work  with style!

  21. Cute! I love how this all came together. Fun glasses too. I recently got a couple pairs of glasses online and wasn't sure how they were going to look on my face but ended up working out perfectly. Phew!
