Wedges: Target ($20) | Belt: H&M ($17)
One of the many things that's nice about a printed top is that it can do the work of choosing your color palette for you. You might think you need to tone down a print by pairing it with neutrals, but one thing I love to do is pull out some of the colors from the print and use it in the rest of the outfit. The print is the piece that ties it all together. Normally I might go with a neutral cardigan if I were wearing these (not mauve) pants :P, but I had fun pairing them with a yellow cardigan since both of those colors were in the print!
I'm off to Chicago this weekend for work! What are you all up to? Whatever it is, I hope it's fantastic.

Love this outfit :) I adore the printed top and that delicate little ruffle, also love your *not* mauve pants.

such a perfect "fall"ing of a springy top! i love it
ReplyDeleteGo get it! I've been waiting since April for mustard cardigans to come back to Target or H&M. (Didn't wanna pay more than $20 at Urban Outfitters or whatever.) Is that a sad existence that I've been waiting since April? Regardless, it's true. You don't want to be me. Go get that cardigan! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I was thinking how this outfit could be springy too! I originally had oxfords on to make it more "fall" but when I walked outside it was 78 degrees and I couldn't handle close toed shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love taking colors out of patterns and mixing them up in the form of new pieces - it's so much more exciting than sticking with neutrals!
ReplyDeleteAnd hope you have fun visiting my city, even if it's just for work :)

ReplyDeleteThe pants are jeans. Pretty comfy too!
ReplyDeleteI love the airy print on you with the brighter colors. I do agree though, sometimes wearing a print with brighter colors will crash but not this time. You totally rocked it!
ReplyDeleteThis combo is very cute. Nice choice with the (not mauve) pants & the jacket.
