Everybody Needs a Shirtdress

Dress: H&M
Wedges: Target (shop)

I've been wearing lots of dresses since my 30 for 30 ended.  Summer has finally kicked in here in San Diego, and I live in dresses in the summer.  But there's a special place in my heart closet for shirtdresses.  I feel a sense of ladylike-ness and strength at the same time.  Know what I mean?  Everyone should at least try one.  C'mon.  You know you wanna.  :)

Tonight is Lulu's BlogHer Mixer!  I'm excited and a little nervous because I don't know what to expect, but I'm so glad Morgan will be there.  Wishing you a joyful and restful weekend!

Shirtdresses are my absolute favorite!  I think I have about five in my wardrobe right now.  It's such a great way to look put together but in a casual way.

  3. You look so cute! I'm always on the lookout for a great shirtdress; I think they're perfect seasonal transition pieces.  H&M seems like a great place to shop for them because I picked up mine there as well!

  7. What I wouldn't give for a great shirtdress! I love the one that recently showed up at Old Navy (I know you saw it!) but it isn't sold in my size :( Yours looks fantastic on you. I hope you had a great time at the mixer!

  9. Which one?  I saw a cute chambray one and had to turn my eyes away really quickly before I started unconsciously drifting towards it.  Did you try online?

  10. I have two H&M shirt dresses and I love them both.  What I DON'T love is how they keep coming out with new colors that are better than the previous round.  Effective little trap they've got going on.

  11. This shirtdress fits you perfectly! I'm a big fan of dainty capped sleeves.

  12. The one I saw was navy blue. I adored it but even online it only goes up to a 14. Woe is me!

  13. Bummer, Jess.  Sorry to hear that!  I dunno if this is the same one, but this is the chambray one I was talking about:  http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=68334&vid=1&pid=864379&scid=864379002

  14. This is adorable!  I have a khaki shirtdress that is just a tad too thick to wear in the kind of heat we've been having.  I tend to pull it out in September when it cools off, or wear it open (like a short-sleeved jacket) over skinny jeans and a striped shirt.  But you're making me want a thinner, less bulky one!

  15. Whoa, so weird! I went to the site to find the link for the dress I saw and it's gone! But the one you linked me to is really cute and it comes in my size so I might need to invest :)

  17. What a cute, neutral, classy outfit!  Ya know I just got rid of a few shirtdresses b/c they were too short, I need some this length b/c it looks fab.  Hope the mixer was a blast!

  18. I agree that every girl needs a shirtdress!  I consider them a classic!  I also love wearing dresses too.  It's so easy to just thrown on a dress and call it a completed outfit!   :D

  19. I have a thicker shirtdress too, and I have to wait for Spring kind of weather for that one too, so this thinner one is nice.  I also have a long-sleeve shirtdress for the winter!  Like I said, I love them and I'm trying not to buy more!
