This month's Everybody Everywear theme is pattern mixing! Okay, I know a floral/paisley dress with a little striped belt hardly counts for pattern mixing, but I was already going to post this outfit and I don't have time to take more outfit pics. You'll forgive me, right?
I don't think I'm much of a pattern mixer anyway. It's a little chaotic for my OCD tendencies. But then again, who knows? Style blogging has gotten me trying lots of new things so maybe I'll become a crazy pattern mixer yet! We'll just have to wait and see. :)

I'm so with you - I thought pattern mixing was a hard challenge especially with my OCD tendencies. I am much better at matching my clothes than I am a pattern mixer. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I love your dress - it fits your body perfectly! So cute!
You are so cute! Pattern mixing is a hard one for me too! That's why I skipped EBEW this time around. This dress is adorable!

Cute! Simple is a good way to start. I definitely didn't attempt pattern mixing before joining a couple of 30 for 30s... but I still keep it tame for fear of looking like I'm going to clash day at school (did other schools have those?)
ReplyDeleteSubtle is a good thing! I'm not a great print mixer myself. I think you look great!
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that starting out simple is the way to go. I think the stripes look great with the that dress! Next to polka dots, I think that stripes are the easiest to mix with other patterns.
ReplyDeleteYou get commendations for the attempt to branch out from your norms--that's what EBEW's about, right? Anyway, whether or not it should qualify as mixing patterns you look adorable.
ReplyDeleteSure it counts, and it's pretty together!! :) -Rachel (adistinctstyle.blogspot.com)
ReplyDeletethe belt is so perfect for this dress!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a pattern mixer so I can't tell you how the belt works with the dress and such but I can tell you the dress is gorgeous & you look great :)
ReplyDeleteI really stepped outside the box with this challenge... but your look is FAB!
ReplyDeleteThe paisley print looks great with the striped belt! You look great!

Love this dress and it was the perfect subtle pattern mix to pair it with the belt! - Katy
ReplyDeleteThe first picture made me think: Cute dress! But wait...where's the mixing? Then BAM, I saw the stripes on the back of the belt, which I really love with the dress!
ReplyDeleteI was never one for pattern mixing until I started reading fashion blogs. It opens your eyes to SO much more!
