Irresistible

Top: Target (shop)
Skirt: Anthropologie
Belt: Thrifted
Wedges: Target (shop)

Two pieces of this outfit were irresistible to me.  First, this belt was the first belt I ever thrifted, and it was a whopping $1.  How could I say no?

Secondly, anytime I try on a skirt or dress and I'm not sure if I want to buy it, the second I find out it has pockets, I'm basically sold.  Pockets have a special place in my heart.  In fact, I get kind of mad at my dresses when they don't have pockets, and when I motion to stick my hands in pockets to no avail, it feels like a piece of me dies inside.  Oh, the disappointment.

(BTW, you peeps made me smile with the Fresh Prince stuff all day yesterday!)

  1. Just found your blog through Mama Love Papa and I love it! I'm also in SD and my favorite Goodwill store is on Broadway in Chula Vista. I go there once a month and I always find J Crew, Theory, and many other good brands :)

  2. I've found a couple of great $1 thrift store belts lately...  I think I might soon amass rather a collection if that continues - impossible to turn down! And yes to pockets.

Love this outfit, by the way. I wouldn't have thought to put the colors together, but it looks so great!

  4. I love the color combo and that yellow top.  If I wasn't banned from shopping this month, I would totally go get it!

  5. That's such a perfect belt!  It pulls the whole outfit together.  I love the skirt.  I've been wanting a cardi or skirt in that color for a while and seeing your outfit makes me want it more.

I <3 pockets too!  I remember the first time I tried on a skirt with pockets I was completely sold too!

  6. So cute! I love the wide belt and that shade of yellow is just beautiful on you. :) I too did a yellow tank with an olive skirt early on in my 30 for 30. It's such a great color combination.

  7. Oh, cool!!  Thanks for stopping by.  I am TOTALLY gonna check out that Goodwill in Chula Vista.  I lived down in National City for a year and worked at Southwestern but I wasn't into thrifting then!

  8. I tried a shopping ban and failed miserably.  If it helps ease your pain, this top is sold out online and in stores.  I found it on a fluke a few months ago in a ghetto Target in an area full of old Chinese ladies who wouldn't wear this top.  (I was visiting my grandma hahaha)

  14. I heart pockets. I don't even keep things in them, but any skirt or dress that has them is (at least in my mind) 10 times better than ones that don't have them. And I like that it gives me somewhere to put my hands when taking photographs.

Thrifted belts are the best, especially since they're usually less than the cost of a candy bar :) I love tan with yellow, and the green skirt is very fun and unexpected.
